28 Jun 2008 - Summer Fayre

  The sun shone down as the Almondsbury CE Primary School Summer fayre started. The Parents Association did themselves proud once again organising a very successful event. The theme this year was the Olympics and we had our very own Olympic Village/Arena, which the children were able to enter and 'have a go' at lots of different sports.

There was also the opening, by Jacob Sargent above, of the new Adventure Trail paid for by the PA. We were entertained by the School Choir, the School Orchestra and the Thornbury Area Music Centre Orchestra

Once again stalls such as the tombola, bric a brac, cakes, popcorn, BBQ, pony rides, coconut shy  were very popular.

There were many excellent prizes in the raffle including £100 of Mall voucher and a weeks accomodation in Barcelona, curtesey of Europarcs. The fayre programme was sponsored by Hydrock and we would like to thank all contributors to the programme and raffle prizes.

The PA should be thanked along with all the staff, Governors and parents who helped on and before the day. Thank you also to St. John's Ambulance, Thornbury for attending.

On the day the fayre raised approximately £3,400 towards equipment for the children.
